Still fumes

Christmas was really delightful and I’m so glad the way it all turned out.

On Christmas eve, we opened gifts at my parents.  I wasn’t sure how N would do but pulled through like a trooper.  He carefully unwrapped each present and made sure to say thank you to people.  He had a couple of great one liners (opening match box cars results in an immediate vrooom vrooom) and he did well with showing folks his gift & thanking them.  For some reason he did not want top open Brian & Kevin’s gift.  I think they are tricky for him – he really admires them but they also sort of freak him out (loud/so much bigger than N).

Tita did great with everyone.  I know it’s hard to be away from her family and I imagine the holidays are even harder.  But, she kept a smile on her face and participated.  Everyone in our family really adores her and we all just want the best for her.  I loved how all of my siblings have accepted her and treated her as part of the family.  It means so much to us.

On Sunday, a scraggly looking Santa came to visit at the annual Franz Christmas.  N was a trooper and immediately went up on Santa’s lap for his gift and gave him a kiss.  I was impressed – no fear but the promise of a toy is a big motivator.

We’ve had a wonderful week.  We are all decluttering, organizing, cleaning etc.  It feels so amazing.  We still have a good amount to go but we are all making good progress.   Tita is getting caught up on her homework and getting ahead in some classes.

Moments

I think Christmas is made of moments. . .

Yeterday suring x-mas service, Nathanael feel asleep on me and I held him during the song Silent Night  It might have been the moment of my life.

Nathanael’s excitement this morning with Santa.  He was excited but not crazy.  He was so happy that Santa came and of course, loves his Woody doll.

Nathanael unwraps each present so very carefully – making sure that each piece of paper is off and thrown away.  Last night he would stand up and slowly turn around to display his toys to everyone.

Tita’s look on her face when she opened her ipod.

Tita talking about getting “girl stuff” for Christmas and everyone so happy that we have a girl around to buy for!

Merry Christmas

It’s been a very busy holiday with Joe gone for  2+ weeks, onboarding a new account, and pitching another.  But, it’s been good.  Today we enjoy.

Sprout

Nathanael continues to sprout in so many ways.  He’s starting to get quite good with his letters – today he completed a full page of N’s.  It was pretty much all in a straight line and the amount of detail/concentration it took was quite impressive.  N continues practice cutting as well.

Tita seems to be hitting her stride in school.  I think the transition to a new family and school was challenging (as it would be for anyone) but she’s doing terrific.  She has an amazing attitude and just a terrific spark.

N’s pre school holiday show is Sunday, I am so looking forward to it.  I hope I don’t cry!
