Lately, that’s the standard response to anything that is slightly irritating.

“Nathanael, can I help you put on your shirt?”  “DONT’ TALK ABOUT IT.”

“Would you like to eat dinner?” “DON’T TALK ABOUT IT.”

“Will you put your dirty clothes down the laundry shoot?” “DON’T TALK ABOUT”

Rinse, repeat.  It can be hard to be and hard to be the parent of a 3 year old.

On the upside, we visited his montessori room tonight.  N got to take us through the activities he was working on.  He was very very proud and it was so neat to see him excited to show us.  We loved it.  N screwed bolts into a board (very good, very fast) and then poured water into different cups (I stopped counting after 3 spills).  But, he was so careful to clean up his spills, to organize his stuff, keep his work area clean, and carry things the appropriate way.  He has a big bounce in his step.  Joe and I were both beaming.  I just loved it.
