BugMan

We are absolutely having a blast with almost 3 Nathanael.  He told us a knock knock joke this week-end.  He almost fell over laughing at the knock knock joke I told him (who doesn’t love a good audience?).  And he get things almost right . . . like today he told me how much he likes his BugMan sticker and I had to break it to him that’s it’s BatMan.

A few highlights:

*  Nathanael has taken to yelling “mom!” all over the house.  I love it.  “Mom!  Mom! where on the bundads? (bandaids)”
*  Nathanael calls daddy “my pop” on occasion.  Or when he really wants his attention “Joe!”
*  We went boating on Lake Minnetonka on Friday night.  It was the first outing of the season, Nathanael did great.  He was a little hesitant but all in all – wondreful.
*  I really can’t get over how sweet natured he is.  He’s just a kind, sweet kid who will say “thanks Mom” for little things.
*  We started a gymnastics class.  He was being a big sourpuss with the other kids in his group (all girls) – the coach pulled him over to the boy group (a year or so older) and he did great.  Nathanael really responded well to Coach Brian which is really saying something because he usually shy’s away from new men big time.
*  Transitions are still really hard for him.  He doesn’t do well in new environments.  He just gets really clingy and he’s quite unsure.  It’s hard to see him so fearful.

My college friend Toni will be visiting for a few days next week and Nathanael keeps asking about her.  He gets the tense a bit wrong “where did Toni go?” alternatives with “when is Toni coming?”

We are hoping that a high school student from Guatemala will be here for the upcoming school year.  It’s not yet final but it will be wonderful to have another female around the house.  I love my boys but .  . .
