Other Stuff to Obsess About

I am stopping the obsession, work is calling.

But, the dossier is done!  I should really take a picture of all the paperwork.  Yesterday we got the last document authenticated from the SF Guatemalan consulate.  Hence, the copy making.  Besides the originals, we had to make 3 copies.  It’s a pain in the arse because of all the staples which are you arne’t suppose to remove.  So, it mean, flipping things over and standing over a blinding copy machine. 

We also had to do pictures of the house.  This meant figuring out how to download photos.  I have never downloaded them before.  It took a while to find the attachment, it wasn’t the standard USB.  It’s really hot today.  Then I had to take photos and the house had to look ok.  So then I had to tidy stuff up.  Did I tell you it’s really hot today?

 Poor Zachy.  He’s got a big cut/infection/scab/etc on his face.  So, he has to wear one of the crazy cone things.  He ain’t elegant.  He’s constantly bumping into things.  He’s constantly running into walls.  And, he’s sort of miserable.  When I figured out how to download photos, there were some of Zachy in the camera so I’m going to attempt to upload them.  Yes, I just can’t stop the frustration.  It’s still very hot. 

Tweedle Dee

Dossier is getting there -

Just need the homestudy, I171H and one more witness letter. Our CPA did it wrong and I don’t have the guts to ask him again.  So, I’m bothering someone else.  People have been so cool about it.

After all of our dossier documents are notarized.  They need to go to the state for authentification.  Then, they need to go to the Guatemalan consulate for certification.  There are several Guatemalan consulates in the US.  The one that serves MN is in IL.  We had one reference letter done in Washington State – so that one goes to San Francisco.  I was able to send that one out yesterday afternoon.  The SF office told me the turn around time is 3 – 5 weeks.  Blah. I am hoping that since it’s only one document, it will be less.

I think this is going to be a long wait.

Notaries

Are not my favorite people right now.

One of our references got a letter signed, notarized, and mailed to us.  What do you know – the notary messed up the date.  Hello?  Now our reference has to do it again.  Ugh.

As for enlightment, I am watching Little House on the Prairie.  Albert dies.  And Darth Vadar is Luke’s father.

Notary Schmotary

We are asking a lot from our very kind references and witnesses.  The agency we are working with has asked that we use notaries who don’t expire for 2 years.  So, it’s really a pain in the ass to find notaries who don’t expire for a while.  I am sorry!

Paperwork

I am going to try to create a section of links/details on all the paperwork I had to gather. This way if I have to get anything again, I’ll remember how. It’s been a few months since I got a number of these and I can’t really remember how. Scary.
